Routes & Gear

This is the gear I use on my rides, from short gravel loops near Málaga to longer trips across Europe. I’ll share what’s worked for me, what I’d change, and what I’ve learned along the way.

Luggage

Mosko Moto Reckless 80

I use the Reckless 80 because I like travelling with soft luggage without a full set of pannier racks. I’ve also used the Reckless 80 on my Yamaha Ténéré 700 and Ducati DesertX. On my Sweden-to-Spain trip, the bag started to melt where it touched the first heat shield I’d added to my Scrambler. I fitted another shield on top in Austria. Before my next long trip, I’ll check how much clearance I have with the bags fully packed.

Mosko Moto Backcountry panniers

I used the Backcountry panniers on my first Scrambler 1200 XE and on my Ténéré 700. I’ve also used the Reckless 80 on the Ténéré, and the big difference for me is the mounting. The Backcountry panniers need pannier racks, and I prefer to keep the bike free of a full set of side racks. That’s why I tend to reach for the Reckless 80.

Duffel bags

For a weekend trip, I usually grab my waterproof Givi 40L duffel. It’s simple and quick to strap on when I just want to get going. For trips of a few days, I usually take my Mosko Moto Backcountry 40L Duffle.

Cameras & audio

I use a DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro on my helmet to show the ride from my point of view, and an Osmo Action 4 for a second angle. I’ve recently added a DJI Mini 5 Pro for wider shots that show where I’m riding.

I use my iPhone 18 Pro for all the shots where I’m stopped and talking to the camera. I also use it to film the scenery and set it up by the roadside for ride-by shots.

For audio, I use a DJI Mic Mini. I use a separate mic so you can hear what I’m saying over the wind and engine noise when I’m riding.
